I developed my clinical work with elders over a period of seven years working in day centres, acute mental health and continuing care units for dementia. My approach integrates reminiscence, creative movement and embodied narratives and aims to support participants’ wellbeing, sense of personhood and identity. I am a Certified Dementia Care Mapper (Bradford Dementia Group) and have received extensive training on creative approaches in dementia and person-centered care. I have recently joined forces with Dementia Pathfinders and Re:Bourne/New Adventures to develop and promote an innovative new dance and dementia project in residential care. You can read details on the launch of Dance for Life here and download a full report of the project evaluation here.
